Smarts, simplicity, security. It’s everything users love about Google brought to home Wi-Fi. Google has re-thought everything about routers to create an experience that's reliable, flexible and handles customer's devices and online activities, effortlessly.
Google Wi-Fi is a home Wi-Fi solution that works with a customer's modem and Internet Provider, so they can stream, download and share without missing a beat. Google Wi-Fi is different. It replaces a single router with multiple points, giving users an entirely new home Wi-Fi experience. Because Wi-Fi points connect seamlessly to each other, add as many as customers need, wherever they want. Use it in the garage, patio, attic, and more without negatively affecting Wi-Fi speed.
Google Wi-Fi represents an evolution, more Wi-Fi points throughout the home that deliver a strong, fast signal to all devices. Each Wi-Fi point acts as a router, producing a high-fidelity signal for optimal device connection. Google Wi-Fi uses mesh technology (IEEE 802.11s mesh to be specific) to create a single Wi-Fi network, so users always stay seamlessly connected as they move from room to room.
Since Wi-Fi is broadcasted from each Wi-Fi point, not just a single router, Google Wi-Fi is a connected system that provides better coverage over a wider space. The system is flexible and scalable, so if customers have a larger home, connect as many points as is needed to get better Wi-Fi in every room. Wi-Fi points connect wirelessly, so installers don’t need to run Ethernet cables throughout the house.
Google Wi-Fi features Network Assist, an intelligent software that takes care of complex settings behind the scenes. With multiple Google Wi-Fi points, Network Assist invisibly puts a device on the best point and fastest connection. Network Assist ensures Wi-Fi points are using the clearest channels to connect to one another.
The Google Wi-Fi companion app lets customers see what’s connected, run a speedtest, quickly troubleshoot, set up a guest network, and more. Users can see which devices are connected and how much bandwidth each is using to get a better understanding of where the Wi-Fi is going. Within the app, Scheduled Pause allows users to schedule a regular Wi-Fi pause on their kids' devices, like at bedtime or dinnertime. And users can still pause Wi-Fi in the moment, whenever needed, as well. Prioritize a device for the fastest speeds when it matters most, like a Chromecast when binge-watching a show.
